The Peanuts!

As many of you, I grew up with The Peanuts, that amazing group of friends who had fantastic adventures together. Why not sharing all those adventures with your students?
In the My English Library you can find many of The Peanuts books for your students to read, and best of all, they are for free!
After having the students read one book, ask them to make a drawing of their favourite part of the story and have them explain it to the rest of their classmates. In this way, you can check their comprehension of the story as well as they can practice their communication skills.

  Listening skills Hello readers! For today we have an activity that will keep your students active while learning, but they must be all ears in order to do it right! First of all, you need to introduce the topic, prepositions of place. Tell the students they will learn how to describe where something is in relation to what is around it. Ask for helpers to perform while you explain them.  Play the song below and use your hands to mime the prepositions of place while they listen to it. Ask the children to follow the song and sing along with it.  When they have already catch up with the song and the prepositions of place, ask them to take a chair and follow your instructions. To make it more fun, children must only follow the instructions preceded by "The teacher says...", if a student performs the preposition of place when you didn't use that structure, that student must sit down and continue following the instructions using his/her hands.  Finally, you can play the s...

Guess what!

  Writing and reading skills Hello readers! Today I'm sharing with you this great activity for your children to practice not only their writing skills, but also their reading and comprehension.  You will only need pencils and white sheets of paper. For this activity, you will set a topic and the students will have to write about it. My favourite animal: You can ask students to write about their favourite animal, it's parts and main features, where does it live, what does it eat, etc. They mus't write the name of the animal. Later, you will collect all of the writings and hand them back making sure no student gets its own writing. Now, students must read their assigned writing and guess what animal is it. They should write the name of the animal and make a drawing of it. Finally, you can upload their drawings to the following website to bring them to life. My drawing is alive
